Climate Justice Ministry is on fire (metaphorically) to get something GREEN going for our community, even while we start on the building expansion which is also incorporating many environmentally sound ideas.
Love Knows No Borders: A Moral Call for Migrant Justice
Dear members and friends, I just set my alarm for slightly earlier than my usual Sunday morning 5:30. But instead of making the short journey up Drake to prepare for the holiday music service with all of you (one of my favorites!), I’ll be heading to the airport. About 10 days ago, the American Friends […]
Foothills Receives 2018 Fort Collins Human Relations Award
Wow! Tonight Foothills received the 2018 Fort Collins Human Relations Award in the Non-Profit Organization category, which is to celebrate a “spirit of inclusiveness, giving and altruism that makes Fort Collins a better place for all people.” A few of our lay leaders were able to join the ceremony, but really the award was to […]
Share the Plate – October 2018
“Share the Plate” for October raised $3,194.11 for Faith Family Hospitality (FFH), an organization that provides a great service to our community and gives busy Foothills members a way to serve without making a long-term commitment. FFH not only provides temporary shelter, but helps each family develop and implement a plan that leads to permanent housing. Over 80% of FFH guest families are successful and achieve that goal.
Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network: Ensuring Justice
from Jane Everham The Share the Plate for July was RMIAN: Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network. During the month of July, we donated $3,000 to RMIAN. It had been my hope that a sanctuary would become available closer to Eliseo and Bryant, but in the months Ingrid was with us I got attached. […]
Following Up on #MeToo
It’s been a little over 3 weeks since our #MeToo worship service, and the conversation is just beginning. A few of our Senior Sisterhood groups have been taking up brave and tender conversations around #MeToo – sharing their own experiences and reflections with one another. The small group conversations for women to reflect on problematic […]

It started the way that so many Unitarian Universalist actions start: with a question. One of our members asked on a progressive social media site, why there had not been any response in Fort Collins to the most recent shooting death of a Black man by police officers – in this case, Stephon Clark in […]

by Karen Marcus, Foothills Blogger “Children are dying who could have been future leaders, scientists, or doctors.” —Cameron Montague, Sophomore at Poudre High School Over the weekend, hundreds of thousands or people participated across the U.S. and internationally in “March for Our Lives” protests to demand stricter gun laws in America. Showing Up for Democracy: The Women’s March
from Foothills Blogger, Jane Everham Brian and I attended the first March in 2017 where the organizers hoped for 20,000 attendees – they got 100,000 instead! This delayed the march as the logistics were re-worked, but the standing around with like-minded strangers gave us hope and good cheer. The 2nd Annual Women’s March took place […]
