“Every year, I see how moving this service is, especially for those most resistant to trying it. I don’t know what I believe about the historical character of Jesus. Sometimes the truth of a story is not as important as the truth IN a story. As with all of our spaces, all beliefs (and non-beliefs) are welcome.” – Rev. Sean

Have you had a good talk about death lately? Quite likely, your answer is no. In our death-phobic culture, some would say death is the last taboo. And yet, knowing we will die is one of the things that makes us human. That’s why death is on the table at Foothills Death Café.
Death Café is a simple yet powerful initiative that brings people together over coffee, tea, and cake to talk about death. No agenda, no objectives, no fixing or saving, just gently facilitated conversation about our universal experience of mortality.

Taking the time to articulate your wishes for your memorial service is an act of love toward those closest to you.
It can also be awfully hard to get around to doing on your own.
There’s no need to go it alone! Join Rev. Elaine and Thoughtful Endings facilitator April Undy for a Plan Your Memorial Service Mini-Retreat on Wednesday, April 3 from 9am-12pm.
We’ll discuss the purpose of a memorial, elements of a memorial service, and share resources. You will leave with a general plan for your memorial service and tools for further reflection.
