GlitterBlessed is a 80+ page collection of blessings, prayers, and sacred poetry written by and for the LGBTQ+ community.

Each piece serves as both witness and blessing, speaking directly to what we need in this moment. Courage for fear, defiance for defeat, tenderness for wounds, and celebration for the places shame still tries to claim.

These aren’t generic affirmations written for anyone. They speak directly into the lives of queer and trans people, because they are written by us, for us.

Why This Book Matters Now

Silence = Death. Our ancestors knew this when they painted it on signs during the AIDS crisis. Breaking that silence is a collective act—we speak and bless each other into being, gifting words to celebrate these queer existences of ours.

In a time when our very existence is being legislated against, when trans kids are being targeted by policies dressed up as protection, when families are being torn apart by laws that call love dangerous—we need sacred words that affirm our holiness.

What People Are Saying

“Reading GlitterBlessed felt like being reminded that queerness itself is holy ground. As a queer pastor and writer working at the intersection of faith and justice, I can say this collection doesn’t just bless: it affirms, disrupts, and heals all at once.”— Rev. Brandan Robertson, Author, ‘Queer and Christian: Reclaiming the Bible, Our Faith, and Our Place At The Table

“As I read GlitterBlessed I felt my shoulders relax and tension ease out of my body. Each piece invites us into ways of holding and loving. The Queer community, with all the identities encompassed within, is sacred and by centering the love that has always existed among people who have had to hide who they are for far too long, this book will help you love loudly and boldy. If you are not part of the Queer community, you are invited to learn how to support those you love and you will be moved by each of these blessings that sparkle and warm your soul.” —Aisha Hauser, MSW CRE ML

“A blessing is connection. It says: I see you. Your gifts, the work you’ve put in, the weight you carry, the joy you emanate, the grief you tend, the vital energy of your existence. Being seen is magic. GlitterBlessed is filled with blessings from & for those who move through life queerly. Words to help you, feel seen, feel protected by a community that will never leave you behind, and manifest whatever transformation your queer life has in store for you. Go forth and shimmer, baby.” — Flamy Grant, Award-winning and Billboard-charting singing-songwriting drag queen.

“GlitterBlessed is spiritual nourishment for resisting those who would erase our holy love. “You Are Queer Enough” and “Blessing for the ones still figuring it out” remind me that queer resilience and joy are sacred weapons. These blessings fortify the soul for the struggle and kindle hope that cannot be legislated away.” — Rev. Tandi Rogers, Director of Spiritual Direction Formation & Certification, Meadville Lombard Theological School

“More and more, in these dire days when hate is both shouted and legislated without any remorse, we need books like this. I am looking forward to passing this volume on, especially to the trans and nonbinary beloveds in my congregation and their families so it can serve as a lifeline, a fortification, as a shield against all that is aligned against them and all that seeks to tell them they are not part of how the Creator intended the world to be. This will be a deep well of healing.” — Rev. Dr. Kelly Colwell, Senior Minister of First Congregational Church of Berkeley, UCC

  • And many more fierce voices from our community

Finding Your Blessing

We’ve organized the 30+ blessings by the moments that call for them:

For the Morning – When you need to remember who you are before the world tells you otherwise
For the Breaking Points – When the weight feels unbearable and you need someone to hold you
For the Celebrations – When joy demands witnesses and pride needs proclamation
For the Quiet Moments – When tenderness is the everything
For the Fight – When resistance is the only prayer that makes sense
For the Future – When we need to remember what we’re building together

About the Editor

Hi, I’m Rev. Sean. I’m a queer Unitarian Universalist minister living and working in Northern Colorado at Foothills Unitarian Church. much of my work centers in the proclaiming of the sacredness of  every queer and trans person. For years, I’ve been offering GlitterBlessings at Pride —simple words of affirmation of our belonging in this world that transcends all fear or hatred.

As a queer minister, married foster parent, and stubborn believer in the holiness of the ‘despised’; I’ve seen how desperately our community needs sacred language that affirms rather than condemns, that celebrates rather than converts.

As I started pulling this collection together, I realized I couldn’t do it alone. The work needed more voices, more stories, more and different blessings. So I invited other writers and ministers into this sacred project, becoming editor and contributor to something larger than any one of us could create.

This collection grows from that practice…the understanding that blessing each other into being is both spiritual work and political resistance.
