Crafting A Vision for our Courageous Future.

We are living in a time of complexity, change, and possibility. As a community of courageous love, we know we cannot look away. This is our moment to listen deeply, imagine boldly, and choose together how we will respond.

Since Summer 2025, Foothills has been engaged in a visioning process to discern the future we are called to create. Inspired by the UUA’s national Meet the Moment framework and General Assembly theme, we’re inviting every member of our community into shared reflection through three essential questions:

  • What is the moment we are in?
  • What are the most urgent and important needs of this moment?
  • What do our values call us to do in response to this moment?

This process is more than planning. It is spiritual work. It is how we will name the difference we’re here to make in the next five years, grounded in our mission, shaped by our people, and responsive to the world as it is.

Think of it like a mosaic. Each insight, story, and question is a piece of something larger. When we bring our pieces together with care and courage, a shared vision begins to emerge.

Wisdom Cohorts
Over the course of the summer, we gathered for small-group conversations we called Wisdom Cohorts. These were spaces where people with shared identities, roles, or experiences in our community came together to help shape where we go from there.

Each group met for about 6 hours over 2–3 sessions (depending on the cohort). The voices of these groups represent their perspective in the visioning process and ensure our future is built on the insight and lived experience of the many people who call Foothills home.

In October of 2025, we’re launching the next phase of this process—inviting the whole congregation to engage and provide feedback. Visit our Vision Mapping Tool page to learn more about how you can be a part of this conversation and how you can find your personalized link to participate.
