Social Justice

There are no other hands or hearts to do the work of justice in this world. It’s up to us.

Relationships

Our social justice groups partner with organizations and individuals to maximize impact.

Sustainability

We don’t believe in short-term fixes. We are committed to justice for the long-haul.

Connections

As UU’s, we value our interconnectedness with all beings in the web of life. None are free until all are free.

Struggling Together

Our justice work is rooted in spiritual practice, fueling our hope when the work is most difficult.

Sanctuary Volunteer Crew

In 2017, Foothills became a Sanctuary congregation and welcomed our first guests. We also work with many community partners who serve immigrants and minorities in our community.  We are deeply passionate about welcoming the stranger and loving our neighbors.

Environmental Justice

Climate Justice Ministry

From an organic garden on our campus to helping construct a solar farm, we support many environmental causes. The Climate Justice group hosts panels, discussions, workshops, and other events throughout the year. Foothills is increasingly integrating climate action into the entire fabric of the church.
Peace and Justice in the Middle East

Peace and Justice in the Middle East

UU's For Justice in the Middle East

Our chapter of UUJME was established in 2010. We adhere to their mission to “…affirm the equality, dignity, freedom, and security of all people involved [in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict].”
One Village One Family

One Village One Family

In Partnership With Homeless Gear

Foothills Unitarian Church members have formed seven “villages”, and those villages have mentored seven adults and 24 children into stable and secure housing. Our villages each support a family for at least 6 months, offering assistance in budgeting, accessing community resources, and moral support – often their greatest need.
Mobile Food Bank

Mobile Food Bank

Food Bank For Larimer County

Foothills Unitarian Church hosts a mobile food pantry program in partnership with the Larimer County Food Bank to distribute groceries donated from local groceries and food stories to those in need.

Share the Plate

At Foothills, we collect a weekly offering at each Sunday Service. Our community is completely financially supported by our members. However, we don’t keep the entire offering for ourselves. Each month, we share half the offering with a local community partner.
