Labor Day Weekend 2024

Every Labor Day Weekend Foothills Unitarian congregants travel to Buckhorn Camp for a family retreat. Even if you aren’t able to attend the retreat we invite you to drive up and join us for the outdoor service at Buckhorn on Sunday. There will also be one in-person service at Foothills at 9am (also accessible via zoom). Details for both the in person service at Buckhorn and the in-person service at Foothills are provided below!

In Person and Zoom Service with
Rev. Roger Butts

Sunday, September 1

Service Time: 9 AM

Join Community Minister Rev. Roger Butts for “Original Blessing,” a special service at 9am in person and on zoom.  We’ll be exploring the goodness of the heritage of Universalism together.

Universalism is what the world needs now: a spacious, gentle, fierce commitment to what is possible, together. It starts and ends with a simple proclamation of love, for all of creation. One of our ministers said it this way: “At the heart of all creation there is a purposeful goodness–from which we come, in which we live our fullest, to which we shall at last return.”  Learn more at foothillsuu.org/sunday

Outdoor Service at
Buckhorn Camp

Sunday, September 1

Service Time: 10 AM (arrive by 9:45 AM)

We invite you to join us at Buckhorn Camp (45-50 minutes from Fort Collins) for a special outdoor service. We will gather at 9:45 AM then walk to the service location and worship from 10-11 AM.

Please park along the road behind the cabins and walk to the old Buckhorn Lodge where we will gather for the short walk to the worship site. Here are driving directions to Buckhorn Camp. Please be aware that the terrain is somewhat rough and there is very limited wheelchair accessibility. Assistance via car/truck is available to help transport anyone with limited mobility to the worship site.
