Early Childhood Programs at Foothills

Our early childhood programs meet on Sundays during our 10:30 am church service.

Our programs for young children provide a nurturing and loving spiritual foundation, introducing simple rituals to develop a sense of safety in a supportive community.  Programs are led by and Foothills  staff and caring adult leaders. 

Our Preschool Group 

  • This group called “Chalice Children” provides a loving and nurturing first church experience for kids age 2 1/2 – 4, , anchored in relationship, fun, and free exploration. 
  • Our early childhood group meets during our 10:30 am Sunday Church services for song, play, stories, and crafts! 
  • Our Preschool Coordinator Jordan Scott leads this group.

Our PreK – 1st Grade Group 

  • This group called “Spirit Play” provides a spiritually grounding touch point for kids age 4 1/2 – 1st grade, anchored in relationship, fun, and free exploration. 
  • Our early childhood group meets during our 10:30 am Sunday Church services for stories, music, art, active time, and connecting conversations. 
  • This group uses a Montessori based curriculum model called “Spirit Play.” 
  • Our Early Childhood Coordinator, Amber Lamb leads this group – she has extensive experience as a preschool teacher and Unitarian Universalist Religious Educator.

Our Nursery for Infants and Toddlers

  • Our “Little Lights” Nursery provides childcare for children from infancy – 2 years
  • Our Nursery is open Sunday mornings from 10:15 am – noon
  • Our childcare staff, trained in CPR and first aide, provide loving care in our bright, sunny nursery.
  • Our experienced childcare staff will text you if your child is crying or needs you. 
  • Childcare is also provided during some church events. Check the event description to request childcare.
