This month marks the official beginning of the holiday season. For many, this marks a joyful time with family and friends. And for just as many, this time holds a lot of mixed emotions – both great joy as well as difficulty and grief. And for some of us, the holidays are a real challenge.
If you are carrying grief with you through this holiday season – whatever the cause and in whatever way – first please know that your religious community is with you through this grief, and that we acknowledge that holidays can be a lot more complicated than portrayed in popular culture. Remember that you are not alone in this, that many of us find this time of year challenging, for a variety of reasons. To request prayers or a listening ear, please do use our firstname.lastname@example.org
address to be connected to our caring team – including our ministers, or simply call the office. And if you need additional support, do not hesitate to call the SummitStone crisis line (available 24/7) at 494-4200.
And finally, we invite you to consider joining in our “Tangled Blessing” group of listening and support that will meet twice a month on Mondays from November to January.
In this circle, we will offer readings, prayers, silence and listening ears as we share our stories and experiences. You can attend one or all. We will share tools and tips, stories and struggles. Join us as we walk together through this shared journey of joy and sorrow, gifts and grief in this tangled blessing of life. To sign up click HERE
