10:00AM   Kind Kids | 2nd/3rd grades

Every day our children go forth into a complex world where they are often faced with difficult decisions and situations. This group features stories from sources that give kids spiritual and ethical tools they will need to make choices and take actions reflective of our Unitarian Universalist values of compassion and justice.

This group invites fourth- and fifth- grade kids to reflect on the qualities of our Unitarian Universalist faith, such as integrity, courage, and love, as tools they can use in living their lives and building their own faith. It’s Just a Phase: Elementary School

Elementary school kids are busy and rapidly changing

Children in elementary school have busy days filled with school, activities, computer games, fun and then fights with their friends. They have a lot of natural curiosity about living things and enjoy having pets. They are still impulsive but are beginning to think and plan ahead. They have a thousand questions. This age group has good and bad days just like adults. As they move into their preteen years, some are still “little kids” and others are quite mature. Some are already entering puberty, with body, emotions, and attitude changes. These children begin to think logically and they want to “do church” – learn how we worship, serve and live out our faith.
