Funding Our Bright Future: Solar Panel Installation & Contribution
We are so excited to be able to fulfill a long-held hope of installing solar panels on our building. These panels will be our primary source of electrical energy for the building for the next 30 years.
Thank you to the Solar Panel team who researched and vetted vendors, and made the final recommendation for the solar array we will be installing. The solar team was led by Steve Tenbrink, and included Peg MacMorris, Suzy DiMont, Randy Kuehn, Janelle McGill and Richard Small.
System size: 102 kW
Estimated Annual Production: 137 MWh
Number of Panels: 211
Retail Cost: Approximately $244K
Costs after rebates: Approximately $96K
Estimated energy savings: $49K in the first 7 years
Foothills is required to pay the retail cost of the system, minus a $50,000 credit, up front which is approximately $194K. We have already had a generous donor commit to helping us fund a portion of this. We are hoping to raise $60,000 to additionally supplement the up front costs. We invite you to consider purchasing 1 (or 2 or 5 or 10) solar panels at their final cost of approximately $500 per panel.
If you participated in the member promissory note program, you may consider donating your 2024 interest payment to this effort.
