Build for Belonging is more than a fundraising campaign—it’s our commitment to sustain a community of courageous love in uncertain times.

When truth feels fractured in the wider world, we trust what we know: the good news of a caring community, rooted here, reaching outward. By building capacity together, we strengthen what endures—belonging, resilience, and the power of collective courage.

Why Capacity Matters

Foothills has grown into a large and vital congregation, serving hundreds of individuals and families every week and partnering with neighbors across Northern Colorado. To sustain this work, we must strengthen the financial and organizational foundation that supports it.

Capacity building ensures that Foothills can continue meeting the needs of today while preparing for the generations who will come after us. It is about building stability, resilience, and strength so that our values of love, justice, and belonging endure far into the future.

Our Goals

Through raising $1 Million in annual operating pledges and $1 Million in one-time capacity building gifts, we will get closer to our goals of:

  • Stabilize our financial position for the next five years.

  • Sustain the growing ministries of Foothills.

  • Make room for more people to belong and thrive.

Re-Financing our Mortgage Debt

One of the most significant steps we can take to stabilize our finances is to refinance our current mortgage. Without refinancing, Foothills will pay over $1 million in interest and fees by the time our loan comes to term in 2038. By securing a private, low-interest loan from individuals or organizations in our community, we can dramatically reduce those costs and redirect funds toward ministry, justice work, and care.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can participate in this refinancing effort by contributing a private loan (minimum $20K), please reach out to our Executive Director, Katie Watkins at katie@foothillsuu.org.
