Meet our new building partners

We are happy to announce that Pinkard Construction will be the Construction Manager/General Contractor for our Building project. The Building Expansion Team (BET) interviewed three firms and selected Pinkard as the firm that most represented our values and vision for the building. The Board approved our recommendation at their last meeting. The firm is already at work to produce an initial estimate. While this will not be the exact cost, it will give us a number to use in our fundraising and a budget that the architect can consider when completing our initial design. Here are the staff members assigned to our project.

Blake Chambliss, Construction Manager. Blake will oversee the entire project, ensuring that everyone has the support and resources needed.

Rick Converse, Senior Preconstruction Manager. Rick is working on our estimate and will produce new estimates throughout the process.  He will also work closely with Ewers Architects during the rest of the design phase, helping to determine materials and offering constructability advice.

Liz Greene, Senior Project Manager. Liz will be managing schedules and keeping track of the construction process.  She will be onsite frequently after construction begins.

Troy Bohlender, Senior Superintendent. Troy manages the construction site, working with subcontractors, managing safety for workers and the neighborhood and generally supervising the entire process. You will be seeing him a lot.  In fact, he has offered to give tours of the construction site to congregants. We will set these up regularly after construction begins.

With the selection of a contractor, we are beginning to dive into the nuts and bolts of the building process. It suddenly seems more real. But in order for our dream to materialize, we need to ...

Discover What’s Possible - Together

Throughout the month of September, there will be 18 opportunities for you to join a Focus Group. In these one-hour sessions, you’ll join with a small group of other Foothills’ folks to talk through the details of our building plans, and to assess our shared commitment and readiness to launch a full building campaign in the near future.

We are asking every member and supporter of Foothills to join one of these conversations. A special 3D video of the full campus design will played sat these session, giving you a chance to see what’s possible really come to life.

Based on what we learn in these sessions, the Board will be convening a report to the congregation at a special meeting in early October where we will decide together if we are ready to officially launch our campaign, and to decide our next steps for our future.

Please sign up now for a session — this is going to take all of us! We have tried to vary the times/dates so that at least one will work for everyone. If you’re curious, go to the registration link to get an outline of what happens in a Focus Group.

It’s an exciting time — we can’t wait to discover what’s possible — together.

Looking Ahead

While the focus groups are going on, the BET will be working contracts and legal documents required to continue our progress. The congregational meeting in early October will determine whether or not we can move forward. Be sure to sign up for a focus group and plan to attend the congregational meeting.
